Maidu Dr. > Pacific Ave.

This run starts at the parking lot of Maidu Dr. entrance to the Auburn State Recreation Area. From the parking lot cross Maidu Dr. and head north on the Shirland Canal trail. The trail follows the canal until it reaches Pacific Avenue. Turn around and head back.

The trail is crushed granite and dirt, mostly shaded and shared with other runners and walkers (some with dogs). It’s easy to navigate with only a couple of sluices and rough areas to navigate.
